PROSTRATE ENLARGEMENT

What are various types of Laparoscopic surgeries conducted these days in the case of prostrate enlargement?
Our urology team in AMS is doing all the latest techniques in trans urethral surgery. The procedures which are being followed are:

1. Transurethral resection of Prostrate (TURP): In this procedure, pieces of Prostrate gland are cut and removed. It is the most commonly adopted procedure.
2. Transurethral Laser Enucleation of Prostrate (TULEP): Enlarged prostrate gland is removed and the cuts are given laproscopically by a laser beam.
3. Transurethral Incision of prostrate (TUIP): mostly done in very sick patients or patients suffering from cancer of prostrate in whom, only the part of prostrate blocking the urinary passage is removed.
4. Transurethral Vaporization of prostrate (TUVP): one of the latest techniques being extensively followed by doctors of AMS. The prostrate tissue is vaporized with special probes, the recovery is very fast and the bleeding is minimal.
5. Transurethral needle Ablation of prostrate (TUNA) Done in very sick patients where minimal handling is to be done and only a urinary passage has to be created.
