Q&A

Can I purchase doctor approved canabidiol oil or edibles if I live in Maryland?

Maryland allows for medicinal use for ‘debilitating conditions’. This is a list of what may qualify you:

"A chronic or debilitating disease or medical condition that results in a patient being admitted into hospice or receiving palliative care; or
A chronic or debilitating disease or medical condition or the treatment of a chronic or debilitating disease or medical condition that produces: Cachexia, anorexia, wasting syndrome, severe or chronic pain, severe nausea, seizures or persistent muscle spasms."

One of the biggest barriers may be finding a doctor to recommend it to you in the first place, according to my research.

Here is a link to your state’s laws:

So, here is the trick, I do not believe you are able to purchase marijuana at this point. If I understand correctly, it will take at least until 2017 before there will be retailers who make it available.

I hope this helps!

Maryland does have a medical cannabis program. You may qualify If you suffer from Cachexia, Anorexia or Wasting Syndrome, Chronic Pain, Nausea, Seizures,Severe or persisitent muscle spasms. Speak with your doctor, or contact your local NORML chapter. CBD preparations are freely available throughout the United States, however many of these products do not give dosing information and are sometimes of poor quality.
