Fall’s right around the corner. But the end of the summer doesn’t mean the end of fun trips with family and friends. From fall foliage to pumpkin festivals to corn mazes, there are lots of ways to enjoy autumn destinations.
You can also pair these trips with cannabidiol (CBD). Handy in many situations, you can consume CBD in tinctures, vape pens or edibles depending on where you are and who you’re with.
CBD is fast becoming known as a helpful tool in easing mental and physical stresses, including:
And since the 2018 Farm Bill passed, CBD is widespread throughout the country. This past year the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced that you can even fly with certain CBD products. So, consider these four fall destinations for a CBD-friendly getaway before winter sets in.
Germany has its fair share of strong cultural traditions, and none is more distinct than what you can find in Bavaria. Bavaria is in the southeastern region of the country, with traditions and a cultural heritage dating back centuries—you can thank Bavaria for Oktoberfest.
Have you always wanted a slice of Bavaria but can’t make the transatlantic trip? Then head right to Leavenworth, Washington. Nestled in the southeast corner of the North Cascades National Park, this hamlet is famous as a little Bavarian town.
Leavenworth boasts buildings complete with architecture and decorations inspired by Old World Bavarian architecture.
Leavenworth has a waterfront park, right beside Wenatchee River. But if you’re looking to continue down your pseudo-European tour, Lake Wenatchee State Park is a short drive away. Bring your favorite CBD vape pen, inhale and connect with what the city calls “Switzerland-type views.” Some CBD would be great to energize you after a hike and protect against store muscles later.
Maine has plenty of changing colors and natural scenery to take advantage of in fall. And to ring in autumn, all things pumpkin come to Damariscotta, part of Maine’s 40-mile Pumpkin Trail. The festivities include:
If you’re heading to Pumpkinfest, add a CBD tincture to your pumpkin latte for energy and focus if you’re entering one of the competitions. Otherwise, a more calming CBD oil blend will have you relaxed for a day out on the water watching the pumpkins go by.
If fall foliage isn’t your thing, then you may appreciate the red buttes and plateaus coloring the American southwest. Grand Canyon visits are a must in this part of the world. But take a slight detour on the way up to the famed national park and you’ll hit Sedona, a basecamp for a host of other activities.
Neighboring Red Rock State Park is a short drive away from Sedona, filled with its own natural scenery. The 286-acre nature preserve offers many trails for hiking and mountain biking.
The region’s wide-open space also guarantees no shortage of stargazing. Lowell Observatory is about an hour drive from Sedona if you’ve got the time. It’s one of the oldest observatories in the U.S.—it’s where astronomers discovered the dwarf planet Pluto in 1930.
But besides all of these natural sights, Sedona is a spiritual destination. With an array of retreats from yoga and meditation to counseling and therapy sessions, many people head to Sedona with healing in mind.
As a place of enlightenment, Sedona can be a destination for self-exploration. Why not pick a trail to hike and do a little yoga along the way? You can incorporate a CBD vape pen, tincture or edible into your day to not only help your body keep going on the trail, but to quiet your mind as you enjoy the incredible vistas surrounding you.
If hiking’s not your thing, consider Grand Ledge, Michigan. Here you can take in the fall colors from the comfort of a cruise on Michigan’s longest river, Grand River. The Color Cruise and Island Festival centers around these riverboats. It’s a great way to see the fall leaves and have fun with some photography as the trees are reflected on the river.
For more of a workout, there are 500-million-year-old sandstone ledges that draw rock climbers from all over. Located at the 78-acre Fitzgerald Park, the ledges (and Grand River), give the city its name; there are also nature and hiking trails for non-climbers.
Moving from the riverside to the corn fields we have Bestmaze. Bestmaze is a massive corn maze with intricate designs that change yearly—fun for young and old alike.
Bestmaze has a Trail of Terror, perfect for those looking to get their adrenaline pumping and to get your Halloween spirit going. Nab a bite of a CBD edible, move forward and wait for the effects to keep you calm while you try to find the path out of the maze.
The fall offers lower prices and smaller crowds as the summer season draws to a close, but be sure to book a trip before the winter chill sets in. With these destinations, the crisp autumn air paired with your favorite CBD product (and maybe some fresh apple cider along the way), should make the journey worth it.
