Easy-Peasy for the Holidays: Marijuana-Infused Honey Glazed Ham

Nothing says the holidays like a honey glazed ham, and nothing gets you through the holidays like a marijuana-infused honey baked ham. Between sex, religion, and politics, everyone knows holiday conversation can get a little tense with friends and family alike. In the spirit of giving, why not add a little THC infusion to your honey glaze this year and help everyone take it down a notch. Of course, your holiday guests should be aware that their ham is infused with marijuana before you serve it to them!

The Tradition of Ham

The Christmas ham, known initially as a Yule Ham, began as a pagan tradition to please the Norse goddess of fertility, Freya. Killing a boar was meant to be an offering to her to not only ward off death but produce abundance with fertility throughout the coming year. As this tradition evolved, so did our image of the holiday ham, think of a large, whole pig served up on a silver platter with an apple in its mouth.

The beautiful thing about cooking ham is that it’s relatively bullet-proof, unlike turkey, which can dry out quickly with just an extra few minutes in the oven. We believe our recipe is so simple that even those who hate-to-cook can whip this up in a flash and proudly serve it up as a holiday feast.


Ingredients for Marijuana-Infused Honey Glazed Ham

Purchase a 5-10 pound ready-to-eat ham

1/4 cup whole cloves

1/3 cup dark corn syrup

2 1/2 cups of cannabis honey (see this link for honey recipe)

1/2 cup butter

How to Bake Your Ham

  1. Preheat your oven to 325 F (165 C)

  2. Score the hame with a sharp knife and dot the ham with whole cloves. Place ham in a foil-lined deep dish pan.

  3. In a double boiler, heat your cannabis honey with the corn syrup and butter. Heat until combined and warm.

  4. Baste your ham in the cannabis-infused glaze and bake the ham for one hour and fifteen minutes. Brush the honey mixture over the ham every 15 minutes. After one hour, turn on the broiler and brown the ham until golden. Allow to sit for 15 minutes before serving.
