• Is it easy to get a medical card in New York?

• How much does a medical marijuana consultation cost in New York?

• Do patient medical marijuana certifications expire in New York?

  Yes, most Patient Certifications do expire. Patient certifications usually expire one year from the date the doctor signs them. However, many practitioners may specify an earlier expiration date. Pay close attention to the expiration date on your patient certification. If a patient is terminally ill (as certified by their practitioner), the certification does not expire.
  
  After the patient certification has expired, the patient is required to obtain a new patient certification from his or her practitioner and get a new Medical Marijuana card from the NY State Department of Health. If a registered patient renews his or her patient certification and application before their card expires, the card would not expire but would instead be linked to the new patient certification form.

• Can I get a renewal of my medical marijuana certification in New York?

Some examples of medical cannabis products that are available are vape cartridge/pen, capsule/tablets, tincture, oral spray, oral powder, lozenges, metered ground plant preparation for vaporization, whole flower cannabis for vaporization and transdermal patches.

• What dosage amounts of medical marijuana are allowed in New York?

  The patient's certifying practitioner will include any limitations on the use of approved medical cannabis on the certification. If a practitioner has a recommendation regarding dosage, it should also be included on the certification. The total amount of product that may be dispensed may not exceed a sixty-day supply.
