Is Weed Legal in Connecticut?

Legalization Status
Recreational and medical cannabis are legal for adults 21+ and minors with a caregiver.
Medical Documents Requirements
Qualifying patients who are Connecticut residents who meet the necessary requirements and are being treated by a licensed physician can register for a medical marijuana certificate.
Possession Limits
Recreational users are permitted to possess 1.5 ounces of cannabis at a time. Registered medical cannabis patients who receive it from dispensary facilities are allotted 5 ounces per month. (Patents who have been allotted more by a certifying practitioner can still receive their required amount.)
Home Growing Limitations
Medical cannabis patients are permitted to grow up to three mature and three immature plants in their homes (there’s a 12-plant cap per household). Adults who use cannabis recreationally will be permitted to grow under the same rules starting July 1, 2023.
