Is Weed Legal in Washington?

Legalization Status
Recreational cannabis is legal for adults 21+; medical cannabis is legal for adults 18+ and minors with a caregiver.
Medical Documents Requirements
Patients with qualifying medical conditions need to get a signed authorization form from their healthcare provider. Patients can then register in Washington’s medical cannabis authorization database and take their form to an endorsed cannabis store where they can get a recognition card.
Possession Limits
Adults 21 and older can have up to 1 ounce of usable cannabis; 16 ounces of cannabis-infused product (solid); 72 ounces of cannabis-infused product (liquid); 7 grams of cannabis concentrate. Recognition cardholders can have 3 ounces of usable cannabis; 48 ounces of cannabis-infused product (solid); 216 ounces of cannabis-infused product (liquid); 21 grams of cannabis concentrate.
Home Growing Limitations
Recreational users are currently not permitted to grow cannabis plants. Recognition cardholders are permitted to grow six cannabis plants for personal use (depending on their condition and their healthcare provider’s determination, they could be permitted to grow up to 15 cannabis plants).
