A patient under the age of 18 must have a parent, legal guardian, or parent or legal guardian’s designee who is over 21 years of age submit their application for them. The applicant must identify at least one (and up to two) caregivers for the patient. Caregivers must be either a parent or legal guardian, their designee, or someone approved by the New York Department of Health if the patient has no available or appropriate parent or legal guardian. Patients under the age of 18 should only obtain marijuana-infused products such as liquid drops.
