Thanksgiving is coming up and for many of us it’s synonymous with eating a bit too much—and then going back for seconds. Instead of adding to the long list of Thanksgiving dishes, we thought we’d switch it up this year and give you a recipe for a cannabidiol (CBD)-infused virgin hot toddy.
This is a good drink to have after your first course and before you start heating up plates of leftovers. A paper in the journal of Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research says that cannabis can help strengthen our digestive intestines by reducing inflammation, which causes painful irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Symptoms of IBS include:

Even if you don’t suffer from IBS, we’ve all experienced these symptoms at one time or another, and many people deal with them after eating too much at Thanksgiving. So, if you want to give your digestive system a boost after a big Thanksgiving meal, sit down and watch some football with this CBD-infused, virgin hot toddy.
And as an added bonus, it’s incredibly easy to make with only four ingredients. You can also add to this base recipe by including tasty herbs that aid digestion like ginger, cinnamon or milk thistle.
Ingredients for CBD-Infused Virgin Hot Toddy
- 1 mL CBD tincture of your choice
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup boiling water
How to Make CBD-Infused Hot Toddy
- In a mug, add the CBD tincture, honey and lemon juice.
- When the water is finished boiling, remove from heat and pour over ingredients in the mug.
It may sound too easy, but that’s really all it takes for a calming, delicious drink that will help you feel good after a big Thanksgiving meal.
