I’m glad you asked that question because, although cannabis is not toxic, it can cause transient unpleasant effects when it is used inappropriately. I agree with @drelkind ! Like any controlled substance, when used correctly, you should be able to reduce the chance of experiencing any bad effects of marijuana. This is why we always encourage patients to begin their consumption with a very small amount and increase as needed to achieve the desired effects.
With that said, the bad effects of marijuana will vary from person to person. Some examples of these effects include increased heart rate, coughing or difficulty breathing, nausea or light-headedness and feeling sluggish. Consume a High-CBD product if you have one available.
